Artist of the Month:
Shanbrelle Sontique Green enjoys working with clay in Ceramics class because it’s therapeutic, it’s a way to relax and escape from daily challenges. She created a large coil vase and a small slab container in her art class. The coil vase was gifted to her grandmother because she was thinking about her during the time that she was constructing it. The slab container right from the start was made to be devoted to Shanbrelle’s grandmother because she was ill, and was such a loving influence in her life. The art work is reminiscent of a rose that reminded Shanbrelle of a story that her grandmother shared with her from childhood. Her grandmother loves roses and Shanbrelle wanted to please her and it made a really great birthday gift to grandma.
