Art is important to me because it provides me with a way for self-expression, bringing my inner world to the outer world of what I feel is my concrete reality. I like to create sculptures and drawings because I can make anything that I want, I feel that i'm independent and free to show what's inside of me. Art raises my motivation to succeed and my self-esteem. It gives me a chance to show off my skills and when I see the final results of my work, it brings me a great deal of satisfaction. Each day that I practice my art skills, I learn new things about myself and the world around me.
Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities while enrolled at Bulkeley High School. There are many opportunities to get involved, meet new people and develop new skills
